7TH PARTICIPATORY COURSE ON DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS (PCDHR)

7th Participatory Course on Democracy and Human Rights (PCDHR) successfully completed at Dar-ul-Mussarat Training Institute- Lahore on September 25 on October 2, 2011 which is the key capacity building initiative of the Centre for Human Rights Education -Pakistan.

27 participants of diverse background including Human Rights Defenders, university students, political activists, media persons, and religions of different areas of Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, and Gilgit Baltistan participated in Course.

Participatory Course on Democracy and Human Rights (PCDHR) focuses to strengthen the concepts of Human Rights and Democracy, introduce international Human Rights standards and mechanism, and promote volunteerism among youth and skill development of Human Rights Defenders. PCDHR consists of participatory techniques and methods which helps to develop understanding on different social subjects, provides the opportunity to interact and develop networking with people from diverse backgrounds and from different parts of the country.

The course has got a significant recognition nationally and internationally and a huge competition has been observed for the selection in the PCDHR.

"As I was participant of 7th PCDHR it was nice experience for me and I have learnt much more from here. First time it comes to my knowledge that  academic syllabus define wrong history, now I know that which books are right for history as well as I did not know about the Human Rights now I know and understand what are side effects of the discrimination and human rights violation. I hope this training brings a big change and I will maintain this change in my life and I will transfer this to other people. I will continue my training through communication with PCDHR team. If I feel that I need feedback I will contact with the team".

"First of all thank you so much CHRE and their tem to provide platform to express our views and discuss ground situation. Overall course was very informative and knowledge able with participatory approach and engage those participant. They never took keen interest in this course;  as comes to learning things role what we did and why we came in this world to find out the goal and objective, how to fight with those community . They are not providing the basic rights to venerable community. Whatever I learn try my level but to implement in my work and work for humanity".
