Oath for Peace Ceremonies

Pakistan’s public culture in general is riddled with hard-line views and elements, that don’t allow tolerance for divergent views and as a result the civil liberties are squeezing drastically. The peaceful environment has become a dream and the trend of fundamentalism, extremism, hatred, discrimination and violence have deepened in the society.
The reversal of this challenging situation has become inevitable which is not something easy to come and the state institution, political forces, media, civil society and more importantly the people needs to play a very active role to undo what is happening and to do what is required to make Pakistan a better place to live for every person.
Center for Human Rights Education- Pakistan strongly believes that religious tolerance and respect of diversity is fundamental for a peaceful coexistence and is much needed in our society; therefore CHRE has launched a nationwide “Oath for Peace Campaign” to mobilize the citizens, especially the youth to pledge for their contribution for a peaceful Pakistan.
