Training workshop of Democracy Support Council (DSC) began on April 11, 2014 under the auspices of Centre for Human Rights-Pakistan. The participants belongs to different cities (Lahore, Sailkot, Gujranwala, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad) of Punjab Province. 

On the first day of training Session on Concepts of Human Rights, History of Human Rights and UN standards was facilitated by CHRE's Director Samson Salamat while the training introductory session was facilitated by CHRE Alumni Umair AhmadAlmas ShaukatTanzeela SeharKomal Patras and Naeem Haroon

DSC is the initiative of Chre Pak to form pressure groups in different parts of country by engaging Human Rights, Social Activist and Youth to address the challenges to Democracy, Human Rights and Religious tolerance and to intervene at different levels to overcome on these challenges through different initiatives.

On the second day (April 12) of DSC training, Mr. Salman Abid Regional Director SPO-Lahore talked about the Concept of Democracy its importance and challenges to democracy in Pakistani Society. After describing different kinds of challenges Mr. Salman talked about what efforts are required to strengthen democracy in Pakistan.
